Choir Officers Meet with Rev. Serrant

Following the evening worship service last night, our Sanctuary Choir officers met with Pastor David Serrant of Dominica. Jonathan and Steve also met with the officers and David to explore the possibility of a music ministry mission trip to Dominica in March, 2007. Pray that God will lead us as we consider this opportunity.

VBS Music 2006

We had a great week of VBS in the Echo Bay music room. I appreciate everyone that contributed. I am especially grateful to our cast and crew for the week. This included Glenda, Kyle, Megan, Ivan, Deborah, Neal, Colin, and Todd.

In addition to Ivan and Colin getting "saved" as part of our drama, we had seven children stand to indicate spiritual decisions on Thursday. Some of these children had already made decisions, but just needed encouragement and reassurance. Two others were making professions of faith for the first time.

A New Forum

This is a new forum for information regarding the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church, Cookeville, Tennessee. Since our Chi Rho Youth Choir blog was so successful during our recent choir tour, I thought that a running blog concerning our music ministry might be helpful as well. I will be posting photos, info, thoughts, and reflections on worship and music ministry at our church. I will also be providing links to our church site and my other blogs.

The worship of God is central to all of life. Our music minsitry seeks to bring glory to God Almighty through the name of His only Son, Jesus Christ. My the Holy Spirit enable this blog to do the same.

Grace and peace,

Jonathan
